written by Luke Guidry III , September 03, 2009

I searched through damn near their entire library since I was out of work, bedridden and had nothing better to do but play online poker and find new music. Hope someone finds the heads up useful.

HEAVY METAL SUCKS
written by Clifford Scott Carson , September 04, 2009

Yes, it's true that music is an individual thing if you can call heavy metal "music" which I don't. Heavy metal is CRAP music. A real waste. Alot of racket with guys thinkin' their "bad". Nothing timeless or original about it. But to each his own. Not my thing, not my thing at all. I got better taste than that.

HEAVY METAL IS SPEED MUSIC
written by Clifford Scott Carson , September 04, 2009

It's true, Heavy Metal is meth music. The drug of violence. Everyone knows that meth dulls the conscience, not to mention puts holes in your brain.

whoever said anything about meth?
written by Luke Guidry III , September 04, 2009

Never tried it never will. You continue with the insults despite my trying to get a civilized conversation going with people who enjoy GOOD music.

Does anyone have an opinion not born of hatred and misery?

If it makes you feel any better...
written by Luke Guidry III , September 04, 2009

I see why you don't understand heavy metal with your post about the film from 73'. If it makes you feel any better I have some ABBA in my collection too, and Grand Funk Railroad, and Elton John, and Kiss, and Doobie Brothers, and Bach, and Mozart, and Pachelbel. I'm also fond of the flower duet. I like Enya, Paganini, and Sepultura did a song with Pavarotti that is quite cool. I like the Fugees, Diana Ross, Garth Brooks, Toby Keith, Five Finger Death Punch, Slipknot, Ozzy Osbourne, Alicia Keyes, and many, many, more.

I disagree..
written by Luke Guidry III , September 04, 2009

You compared me to guys who think they are "bad". You said I have no taste. Then you implied I do drugs, specifically meth. Why not just say You don't like Heavy Metal instead of stereotyping me and everyone else who likes heavy metal? As you just posted... lets assume all blacks are crack heads.

BUT SPEED MUSIC DOES SUCK, IT DOES
written by Clifford Scott Carson , September 04, 2009

Kinder to tell you now, but heavy metal music, for the most part, does suck, IT DOES. I would also hope that your music tastes are broader than Ozzy Osbourne. Okay, you threw out Pavarotti and Mozart so that's good. Like I said, music is an individual thing, so why should I insult you with my opinion, but I guess I did. Oops . . .

In liking Heavy Metal music, at least it's to your credit that you didn't try meth. I'm with you there. I've never tried it, but I've been around some people who have and it's not pleasant, especially when they come DOWN. It's then you better run for the hills. They become MONSTERS and they have no concept of how they're coming off. The neurons in their brains are going wild and their behavior is selfish, close minded, arrogant, cold, mean and just plain rotten. But to them, they're perfectly justified in how they're behaving and it's the other person who has the problem.

In reality, what's happening is the circuitry of the neurons in their brains are having a hard time finding new paths to be channeled and it's manifesting itself physically.

What sucks about all drugs, no matter what they are is they pick you up to let you down. There's a downer time to all of them. That's what gets people addicted. They can't stand the way they feel when they come down.

Now thats better...
written by Luke Guidry III , September 04, 2009

You gave your opinion of heavy metal and I can respect that. Personally, I don't like reggae. Never understood it, except Red, Red, Wine. I like that one for some reason, and Jimmy Buffett is closely related to reggae, i like him too. But the rest of it can take a hike.

Most people that like Heavy metal do so stemming from a bad childhood and feelings of betrayal or neglect according to my therapist (yes I had a therapist) mine came from a bad divorce when I was still in middle school. Heavy Metal was my way of coping with emotions I couldnt understand or process. Better to listen to Metal and smoke pot than turn to other methods of acting out on one's frustrations.

You might have tried DIRECTING it to it's SOURCE
written by Clifford Scott Carson , September 04, 2009

Yeah, that happens with kids of divorce, to which I am one also. However, instead of internalizing my feelings at the time, I did two things. I expressed them creatively through film and I directed it at the source responsible, THE TWO ADULTS INVOLVED. My father and his selfishness, my Stepmother and HERS. Of course their way of handling me was to pay me off.

I can't let feelings germinate for too long. One has to identify the source of the problem and take it up with there. Until you identify the source to where it's coming from, you can be perplexed thinking it's something else when it's not. Adults can be so selfish when it comes to "their needs", especially where children are involved.

My father and his wife cared more about their careers than they did about anything else. They married each other to promote the other's career. They didn't really care who it hurt. Luckily I had a mother who was nothing like them. She was a real caring, understanding and loving mother. My mom allowed me to express myself. If I hadn't had that, I might have turned to heavy metal (even though it didn't exist at that time) or different forms of drugs. I didn't take my first hit of pot till I was 18. I've never been in trouble with the law in my life. Growing up I lived with my mom in Atlanta and my Father was up in PA with the weather girl from Channel 11 in Atlanta he ran away with.

Living with my Mom, I wasn't a rebellious kid at all. There wasn't anything to rebel against.

I can relate, but kinda opposite...
written by Luke Guidry III , September 04, 2009

My mother was the cheater in the relationship and I was told lies by her about the split up. I went to live with her for a few years as she lived off my dad's wealth. Slowly the truth began to dawn on me and I rebelled and went to live with my dad. The damage was already done though. I started smoking when I was 9. I tried pot when i was 12, LSD when I was 15 ( which freezes the brain's maturation in young adults) mistakes I still dearly regret (except the pot), and found Metallica in 91'.

I still smoke pot when its available (and when I'm with my girlfriend its always on hand), when I went to rehab recently the councilor told me my level of THC was too high to be measured.( Bring it on Cheech.) I walked out of the rehab scared off by the prospect of Cigarette withdrawal. Haven't had any pot since I've been back home in GA. Not really missin it and I haven't experienced any of the withdrawal symptoms I was warned about. After I was sure I was not going to get any withdrawal symptoms I felt comfortable enough to Quit cigarettes, it's been a week and I still want one more than food or drink or sex. But the knowledge that some evil men sat in a room and devised a way to enslave a population for profit spurs me on. I cheated though, i switched to snuff to get my nicotine fix. When I die I'm going to haunt everyone that gained a profit from my enslavement so help me GOD.
