Republicans are still in Control

Abstinence education does not work. It really is clear cut and simple in that fact. Yet just yesterday the senate finance committee voted to restore $50 Million a year towards this black hole. Luckily the measure still has to pass the full house and senate where hopefully it will be defeated.

Let me understand this. Your plan for preventing teen pregnancy is to tell them not to have sex? What did you do when your parents told you not to do something? What do your kids do when you tell them not to do something? Instead of relying on obedience how about we rely on education? Socialized education gave our nation an early foot hold in history and projected our country to leader status amongst industrialized nations. Given the power of education I’m sure it can solve the problem of a bunch of horny teenagers..

Democrats need to grow a spine and start voting along the party lines just as the Republicans do. For as wrongheaded as their arguments are most of the time Republicans do stick together. Why do the Democrats have to be the level headed ones when we’re trying to get something done? It appears to me that we need more entrenched idealistic liberals to replace the yuppies that seem to want to do the right thing. The party of NO has spoken and they do not want to be a part of this process of moving the country forward then leave them behind with their heads stuck in the sand.
