BARBARELLA (Jane Fonda) INSPIRED FILM

For years I couldn't look at this film. I was told that it would be very cinematic and psychedelic which in some ways it was. Even at 16 I was embarrassed to be wearing that outfit but I was assured by a 28 year old JIM WHALEY that it would all work out. When he showed me the film I wanted to destroy it. I told him I wouldn't do anymore and that's where filming stopped. This is what survived. Looking back on it now, I'm sorry I didn't complete it. It's silly, gay and low budget, but kind of charming. I've made mistakes in my life but doing this movie wasn't one of them.

So TAKE AN INTERGALACTIC JOURNEY with the space age adventurer DILDANO (played by a 16 year old Cliff Carson) and featuring noted cinematographer BILL BURTON. Cinema Showcase host and Creative Loafing critic JIM WHALEY directed this little Sc-FI romp back in the 70's. If Barbarella and Flesh Gordon got together this would be their child. Completely inspired by the Roger Vadim / Jane Fonda cult classic with a bit of 2001 a Space Odyssey thrown in.
