I witnessed a motorcycle accident on the highway this weekend

... and it really fucked me up. Let me preface by saying that I am 100% against motorcycles. Yeah whatever, your cup of tea but just saying. You have a 1 in 10 chance of surviving a motorcycle accident. That means 9 times out of those 10 you die. Those are not statistics to be fucked with.

Thank GOD the guy survived. I kept praying for him for hours even after it happened, after I knew he got up and walked away.

When we heading down I-75 and my husband was driving. There was a group of bikers and one of them I noticed had a chick on the back. I was looking at her thinking she has a halter top on. If anything were to happen, it would be her skin scraping the ground. I have morbid thoughts like this unfortunately when I'm on the road. Final Destination type shit. And bikes make me nervous, period.

We were in the second to the farthest right lane. The bikers were 3 lanes over to the left maybe 3 car lengths in front of us. We were next to the truck behind them and had a clear view of the bikes. Out of nowhere I saw a blue rolled up piece of foam or something in the lane they were in. OH MY GOD I started saying. The first biker just made it around the foam. It was too late for the second biker. He went over it. OH MY GOD. Everybody is slowing down, thank GOD. I see him still on the bike but it's wobbling. Next thing you know I see him falling off the bike. OH MY GOD. Then he's rolling on the ground in the middle of the highway. OH MY GOD!!! I can't look. I can't look! I open my eyes and his bike is crossing in front of us on the highway and runs into the side wall.

My husband is looking in the rear view and cries he's okay, he's okay! He's getting up! He got up! Thank you Jesus! Thank you.

I'm shaking still thinking about it.

Your right about bikes...
written by Morgan Hill , August 10, 2009

Bikes are dangerous but they are also allot of fun. Ever split lanes at 80mph? Let me tell you it's a rush.

Unfortunately I have a friend in a coma right now where he's been for a little over a month after kissing the pavement at over 100mph. He's one of my racquetball buddies so all the information I'm getting is second hand but it's sad none the less. My thoughts and prayers are with him.

People who take risk and live dangerously usually do so in a calculated manner. Meaning they know what's at risk and feel they can beat the odds. Most of the time they do. Sometimes they don't. When I raced BMX when I was younger I wrecked my little push pedal bike more times than I can count. Including one time where I slid across the pavement on the side of my face because I thought I could bunny hop over a shopping cart. (For the record I only missed it by an inch)
