I hate having to debate the merits of a lie. It annoys me to no end.

There are NO “Death Panels” in any version of the healthcare bill.

There WAS a provision making end of life counseling available, but no longer. Thx

Section 1233 of H.R. 3200, which is titled “Advance Care Planning Consultation.” It "would require Medicare to pay for some end-of-life planning counseling sessions with a health care practitioner."

There IS a provision prohibiting the use of federal funds in ANY WAY to help illegal immigrants obtain subsidized coverage.

There is NOT a provision in the bill prohibiting the people in power from checking to make sure you are in fact a legal resident.

OBAMA: "The reforms I'm proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally." One congressman, South Carolina Republican Joe Wilson, shouted "You lie!" from his seat in the House chamber when Obama made this assertion. Wilson later apologized.

THE FACTS: The facts back up Obama. The House version of the health care bill explicitly prohibits spending any federal money to help illegal immigrants get health care coverage. Illegal immigrants could buy private health insurance, as many do now, but wouldn't get tax subsidies to help them. Still, Republicans say there are not sufficient citizenship verification requirements to ensure illegal immigrants are excluded from benefits they are not due.

The federal government is NOT trying to take over health care.

The federal government IS trying to put in place a non profit option to compete with private insures.

A government run option WILL NOT run private insurers out of business. If you think it will ask UPS and FedEx how they are doing competing against the post office.

WHATEVER THE AGGRAVATION . . . .
written by Clifford Scott Carson , September 10, 2009

Alot of particulars in the healthcare debate. Bottom line is it needs to be done sooner, rather than later. Universal healthcare is going to benefit this country in the long run. It is the humane thing to do and anything humane usually benefits mankind overall. It will give millions of people a peace of mind they didn't have before. That will be good for everyone. It will make millions of people feel safe about their lives. That in itself will mean less stress for everybody.
